I was recently in charge of the book fair at our school, and could not get enough of your book, the kids ran in after school each day to snatch up each copy I had! I grabbed one for my own boy and he has now read it FOUR times in a row! I told that he had to read something else and pass it on to his cousins, and it almost killed him! Good work, if it got my boy reading than you must be doing something right!
WOW, where do I start! A mother of a 7 year old daughter who is begging me to call Borders to see if Book 2 has arrived! My daughter loved the first book and I even had to take some time and read through it myself. The pictures are so funny! It amazes me how funny chilldren think the word "butt" is when they see it in a book, but that one had her laughing for almost 5 minutes! Best wishes to you and were waiting for #2! Dear Mr.Kinney, I loved your book. I knew how Greg felt with wrestling since I love wrestling. When I found out you have a SECOND book I knew exactly that I wanted it. With out you I probably would not want to read books. My friend showed me you book and I immediatly went to Bordes and bought it. I looked to see if you have any more books and I couldn't find any. I ABSOLUTLEY loved your book Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I usually go for a long comedy/action/romance/ tinsy-bit-mystery (all of those put togeter in one book I mean) But this plain half-pointless ( in a VERY good way) comedy made me laugh more than I ever have reading a book. I bought your book for my grandsom who loves to read. When I presented it to him, he backed away and said, "I don't want it" He thought by the title that I was implying that he was a whimpy kid. I took him in my arms (age 7, but reads at a 5th grade level) and told him it was a book about the success of a little boy very similar to him. I began to read it to him. Before I finished the first page, he took the book from me and began to read to ME. By page 10, he laid the book down and asked his mother to try to find a "journal" that looked like a boy. He is getting that journal in his Christmas stocking. He finished the book that night, and after rereading 3 times, he decided to do his GT project on this book. Thank you for a wonderful book. We cannot wait to purchase book #2.
The Blizzard Book Fair came to my school last week. All the pasters were filled with the Diary of a Wimpy Kid pictures. Then I looked to see if it was there(I already own the book, I just wanted to see if it was there) but it wasn't THERE! If stunk! I thought my school would be cool enough to have your awsome book there. But I guess your book is to cool for my school. Oh well, your book still rocks. When book two comes out I will be willing to wake up a 3:00a.m to the book. I can't wait. I am way to excited to wait. I want it to come out before christmas so I can get it from Santa or my parents. My hands will be trembling until that day:)

I wish you could tell us the exact date... I read the online version of Book 1, and thanks to me, nearly the entire grade at my school has bought the book when it arrived to our school in the Scholastic Book Fair. I told everyone it was hilarious and it must be even better in the print edition, and so started the "Wimpy Kid Mania" in our school. 2 kids out of 3 in my grade bought the book in the Book Fair, and at recess we all played the "Cheese Touch", and we played it exactly like it was in the book, with the finger-crossings, etc. The mania is still drifting in the air; kids bring their copies to school to reread over and over and over, and I feel so awkward having started the "Wimpy Kid Mania" and I've only read the online version and everyone else has read the print edition, which is supposedly better. I can't wait until Rodrick Rules hits books.

Oh my goodness!!!! I just loved to read your book that I read it in few days! I met with this book when I was walkink around in my book fair. I thought this book was a boring book, but after I started to read, I thought this book more fun then plaaaaaying (hanging out) with my friends! When I gave or let my friend "borrow" this book, they said they loved it. I think they liked the word "play" which came up in the first book.

My son received your first book as a birthday gift last September. He has never liked reading and I've always had to push him in that area. He read the book so quickly and with so much enthusiasm. I actually had to say to him "put that book down and go outside to play". I couldn't believe the words when they came out of my mouth. We've been waiting for the second book. My son said that this was an addictive book.. one he could hardly put done..he is a high needs adhd child and when he picked up this book and read it cover to cover in two weeks... well that was impressive. My 10 year old boy obviously does not normally enjoy reading but he cannot put these books down and loves to read them to me, he just laughs out loud, its such a great feeling. Now we have to wait for the new one that comes out in January, what will he read now?? Thanks so much for the great stories and pictures!!!

Oh this book was hilarious. I mean the part when Greg had to get in Rodrick's truck/van. It was absolutely funny when Greg was bouncing around in the back of the truck/van. Well thanks for all the good laughs. Oh and I think it's cool the way you have it drawn in there and written as if it were really a diary. Well duh that's the point. I feel stupid well, good book.

i read part of book two on fun brain. com but lost my page. i love how it made me laugh its very hard to make me laugh and you done it i like the way it was set out so its not just a boring long small print writing book.
